How do I know I ordered the right size?

Make sure to check our sizing chart to see which size fits you best. The best way to ensure you choose the right size is to measure your foot in cm and choose the size corresponding to your measurements.

We are currently working on creating "try-on" 3D molds to be available throughout The Netherlands.

How do I clean my SYOU AMS?

Natural rubber is renowned for its ease of maintenance. All you have to do is wipe your SYOUs clean with water and regular soap. Avoid using chemical cleaners and harsh detergents.

Where are the SYOU AMS made?

All SYOU AMS sandals are being produced and assembled in our unique space in Van Gendthallen, right in the heart of Amsterdam. We do so in collaboration with our partners What The Future Footwear.

What does design for minimal material wastage mean?

Waste is a nasty by-product of high-volume production. We don’t want to adopt this same bad habit, so we use innovative 3DTI technology to create each SYOU exclusively on demand, just for you.

3DTI is powered by FDM 3D printed molds which have a much lower emissions footprint than the metal molds that are used as standard in the footwear industry. FDM 3D printed molds can be recycled and turned into new molds, to keep us both sustainable and efficient.

Why are the SYOU AMS made of natural rubber?

Our first batch of SYOUs will be made using natural latex from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree, native to and imported from Malaysia. We chose this material for four key reasons:

  1. Natural latex works very well with 3DTI technology, allowing us to produce SYOU AMS sandals on demand efficiently and with minimal wastage.
  2. It is a natural product sourced from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree that is sustainably harvested with our local partners. This ensures that your SYOUs are plant-based and biodegradable. It also means that microparticles left behind through the use of your sandals do not harm the environment.
  3. The production of natural latex emits far less of a carbon impact than conventional synthetics used throughout the footwear industry.
  4. Natural latex is a fully recyclable material and a key part of the circular production loop we are striving to achieve. As natural latex production does not take place on an industrial scale, we are initiating the Take Back Program; a radical approach to creating endless life for the AMS sandals. Simply return your old worn-out pair of SYOUs for them to be reduced to granules and remade into a fresh new pair.

Regrettably, this type of natural latex is currently not grown in the Netherlands and we are left with no choice but to import the material from Malaysia. As shipping is not part of our long-term model of localism, we are already hard at work with local waste stream experts to develop a unique local material that is sustainably sourced. This will help us achieve our 100% local goal. Please reach out to us if you have other local materials in mind to work with!

Can I compost the SYOU AMS myself?

Technically, you could bury your old SYOU AMS sandals in your garden. Natural rubber may not harm the planet, but the process of bio-degrading can take multiple generations, so we would strongly advise against it. Additionally, returning your worn-out AMS sandals ensures that we can renew them and give them the second life they deserve through our Take Back program

How is the recyclability of SYOUs compared to regular sneakers?

Depending on its type, footwear is typically constructed with 40+ different materials, many of which are synthetic and extremely harmful to the planet. Additionally, this makes the process of recycling extremely challenging and expensive.

At SYOU, we prioritize exploring mono-material options to enable a system where our footwear can be recycled with ease and efficiency, ensuring an endless life.

Will there be more products in the future?

Yes! The SYOU AMS sandal is simply the beginning of our journey in The Netherlands. We'll be releasing new footwear models in the coming years, and plan to explore other categories of sustainable living further down the line.

Where can I purchase the SYOU AMS?

You can purchase your SYOU AMS sandals right here on our website. SYOU products are currently not available in retail locations, but we are looking into potential partners to introduce this with in the future. Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop with our updates, events, and exclusive offers.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following forms of payment:

My payment failed, but I still got charged. What should I do?

If you got a failed payment notice but your money was withdrawn, your bank has likely taken the money as a pre-authorization and the money will bounce back to your account. As we do not have visibility of this, we highly recommend contacting your bank.

  • Email address used for the attempted purchase.
  • The last four digits of the card used for the attempted purchase.
  • The purchase invoice.
  • Time and date of the attempted order.

Where can I collect the SYOU AMS?

Every pre-order from our first batch will receive an exclusive invitation to our community Pick-Up Party in our unique space at Van Gendthallen. We invite you to come pick up your SYOUs and get a chance to learn all about our brand, connect with the creatives behind the scenes, and see how SYOUs are made live in the What The Future Footwear Laboratory.

Do you ship internationally?

If you are not close to Amsterdam, we can ship anywhere in the Netherlands. If you live outside of the Netherlands and would like a pair of SYOUs from our first release, please email us at hello@syou.com for more information.

What is the estimated delivery time for SYOU?

We are currently set for production in April 2024 and delivery in May 2024. As each SYOU is made on-demand just for you, we encourage you to place your pre-order to help guide our first production batch.

What if my SYOU AMS doesn't arrive on time?

While we are confident that our first batch of releases will be on time, we are indeed pioneering a very new production approach. As such, there is always a small chance of potential delays and obstacles, to which we will maintain direct contact with you to clarify.

How can I track my order?

Once you have placed your order, you will receive an order confirmation email. Once your order is sent to you, we will send you an email notification with a tracking number.

I did not receive an order confirmation. What should I do?

Please make sure to check your junk mail, in case your order confirmation was flagged. If you still can't find it, please reach out to us at hello@syou.com with the following information:

  • Email address.
  • Full name.
  • Contact number.
  • The last 4 digits on the card that was used to place the order.

What is your refund and return policy?

We meticulously hand-check every pair of SYOUs before delivery to ensure they meet the highest standards. Given that our very first Amsterdam collection is essentially a trial run, our refund and return policy is exclusively reserved for damaged and missing items.

Did you happen to choose the wrong size? We invite you to gift the SYOU AMS to a close friend, colleague, or loved one! Our on-demand production method would require you to re-order a new pair, as we only produce per request.

On the other hand, if there is a missing component or damage to the item you have received, you may be entitled for a refund. If this applies to you, please follow these 3 steps:

  1. Contact us via email at hello@syou.com with your order invoice, a description of the issue, and an accompanying image of the issue (if relevant). We will then reach out and provide you with a reference number based on your complaint. Please add this reference number and address to the front of your package.
  2. For both returns and exchanges, please return your package within 10 days of receiving your order. All products must be packed in their original packaging.
  3. Once we receive your return, you will receive a confirmation from our customer service. Provided that the returned product arrives in its original, unworn condition, we will happily refund the full purchase amount within 30 days of receiving the return. Please note that return costs will be at your expense, and the product responsibility is upon you until we receive the package.

My product arrived damaged, or there are missing items. What should I do?

We are sorry to hear that your received order has issues, and we are happy to help get to the bottom of it. Please reach out to us at hello@syou.com with the following information:

  • Order number.
  • Any invoice associated with your order.
  • A description of the issue or missing item(s).
  • Pictures of the issue with the product (not needed with a missing item).
